Q: What is covered under the eStandard Cellular Phone Insurance Coverage?
The eStandard TXT2PROTECT Cellular Phone Insurance provides protection against loss (may be due to snatching, hold-up, robbery) and accidental damage of cellular phones.
Q: What are the instances wherein eStandard will not be liable to the loss or damage of my Cellular Phone Unit?
eStandard Insurance Corp. will not be liable if the loss or accidental damage of the cellular phone falls under the exclusions as indicated in the Cellular Phone Insurance Terms & Conditions.
Q: When is the effectivity date of my Cellular Phone Insurance Cover?
The eStandard Cellular Phone Insurance coverage takes effect at 3:00 PM on the date of payment.
Q: Is my Cellular Phone Insurance valid anywhere in the Philippines? Is it also valid worldwide?
The eStandard Cellular Phone Insurance cover is valid only for losses and accidental damages which happened in the Philippines.
Q: Can I insure my office-issued Cellular Phone Unit?
Office-issued units may be insured. Premium may be shouldered by the individual or by the company on a case-to-case basis. To avail of eStandard Cellphone Insurance Corporate Packages (at least 50 units or depending on the type of mobile device), please call + (632) 400-7777 local 213.
Q: Besides Cellular Phones, do you also insure other mobile devices?
Other mobile devices such as PDA's, Pocket PC's etc. may be insured under Corporate Account and not on an individual basis.

Q: How do I get a quotation for my Cellular Phone Insurance?
Simply text INSURE <space> brand <space> model to 283 if you are a SMART or TALKnTXT subscriber and text to 2333 if you are a GLOBE or Touch Mobile subscriber.
Q: How do I go about insuring the cellular phone of my child who is a minor (below 18 Years Old)?
Parents can get a quote for their child's cellular phone by texting INSURE <space> Brand <space> Model to 283 for SMART & TalknText subscribers and to 2333 for GLOBE & Touch Mobile Subscribers. When paying thru any branch of Equitable-PCI Bank, Metrobank or Standard Insurance, parent/guardian must indicate in the "Subscriber Name" field, the name of the Parent acquiring the insurance and the Name of Son or Name of Daughter using the cellular phone (Example: Subscriber Name - Mrs. Marian C. Mendoza/ Angela C. Mendoza).
Q: How long is the quotation valid?
Quotations issued are only valid until the date reflected on the quotation sent via text by eStandard Insurance Corp.
Q: Is there a maximum number in getting a Cellular Phone Insurance Quotation?
There is no limit to the number of quotation requests sent via text. Text messages are charged to the cellphone user as prescribed by the Network Provider.
Q: Is texting the only way to get a quotation?
Quotations are also issued online at www.estandard-insurance.com. Although, to purchase a coverage, a quotation issued via text with the corresponding Reference Number must be reflected in the Bank Payment Slip.
Q: How do I insure my Cellular Phone if I'm not a Globe, Touch, Smart or Talk nText subscriber?
Ask a Globe or Smart subscriber to text your Phone's Brand and Model to the specified number and take note of the Reference Number in the response which you're to write or indicate in the Bank Deposit Slip.
PAYMENT-RELATED INQUIRIES
Q: How do I get or avail of a Cellular Phone Insurance cover?
After getting the quotation via text, proceed to the nearest Standard Insurance, Metrobank or Equitable-PCI Bank branch to pay your premium. Make sure to take note of the premium quoted, reference number and the IMEI of your cellular phone on a piece of paper. The validated payment slip or Official Receipt (issued in Standard Insurance branch) will serve as your Certificate of Insurance which is valid for one year.
Q: How can I check my IMEI no.?
To know your cellular phone unit's IMEI number, refer to the 15 digit number indicated on the sticker at the back (inside portion) of your cellular phone unit.
Q: Where can I pay my premium?
You may settle your premium over-the-counter at any Equitable-PCI Bank or Metrobank branch. Premium may also be paid at any of the 41 branches of Standard Insurance nationwide.
Q: What if the bank runs-out of Standard Cellular Phone Insurance Deposit Slip, which Deposit Slip or Payment Slip can I use?
You may use the regular Bank Payment Slip.
Q: Do you offer installment payments?
All premiums are paid one-time as all policies are quoted for an annual coverage.
Q: What is considered my Proof of Payment?
Your validated Bank Payment Slip or Official Receipt (when premium was paid at Standard Insurance branch) will serve as your proof of payment and Certificate of Insurance.
CELLULAR PHONE UNIT/ POLICY CHANGES
Q: I'd like to change my cell-phone unit, can I convert my existing policy to cover the new unit?
No. In case you decide to change your cell-phone unit, you must notify SICI immediately and ask for the cancellation of your policy. Your premium payment shall be refundable based on the Cancellation Clause and Short Period Rate Scale.
Q: I upgraded the feature of my cell-phone unit, will I pay additional premium for the upgrading?
No, but you must inform SICI immediately. Please note that the Company shall not compensate any claim due to damage or malfunction caused by adjusting or upgrading the features of your cell-phone unit, as it is stated in the Terms and Conditions of your Insurance Policy.
Q: I downgraded the feature of my cell-phone unit, can I ask for a refund?
No, but you must inform SICI immediately. Please note that the Company shall not compensate any claim due to damage or malfunction caused by adjusting or downgrading the features of your cell-phone unit, as it is stated in the Terms and Conditions of your Insurance Policy.
Q: How much will my new premium be if I will replace my existing cell-phone unit?
Upon receipt of due notice, eStandard Insurance shall automatically cancel the insurance policy of your old unit. You can apply for a new coverage by texting the same syntax as your previous application. The network will respond to you and a new premium amount will be indicated. (Please note that premium rate may change according to the market value and new specifications supplied by the authorized dealer.)
Q: I changed my cell-phone number but maintained the same unit, what are your requirements for this?
You must inform eStandard Insurance immediately so we can update our records on any changes made. You may be asked about some important details in order to establish proof of ownership and may be requested to submit necessary documents by the Company like Certificate of Insurance or payment slip and valid IDs.
Q: I want to endorse the new owner of my cell-phone unit, what requirements do you need from me?
Your eStandard Cellular Phone Insurance Policy is non-transferable, which means eStandard Insurance shall automatically cancel your coverage upon receipt of notice.

New owner must apply by texting INSURE <space> BRAND <space> MODEL of the cellphone unit to 283 for Smart and TalknText subscribers and to 2333 for GLOBE and Touch Mobile subscribers. Client may proceed to pay the corresponding premium amount to any Metrobank, Equitable-PCI Bank or Standard Insurance branch.

Q: Where is my Cellular Phone Insurance Policy?
The validated copy of your Cellular Phone Payment Slip reflecting the eStandard Insurance Cellular Phone Insurance Terms & Conditions will serve as your Certificate of Insurance.
Q: What is the validity of my Cellular Phone Insurance Coverage?
Your Cellular Phone Insurance Coverage is valid for one-year. If your coverage started on August 1, 2004, your coverage is valid until August 1, 2005.
Q: How do I renew my Cellular Phone Insurance Coverage?
We will be sending you a text message 60-days prior to the expiration of your coverage. To renew your coverage.
Q: How do I cancel my policy?
Notification to cancel an insurance policy may be done through the following methods:

b. Personally report to Standard Insurance Head Office or Branch Offices nationwide.

You may be asked to bring your copy of Certificate of Insurance or payment slip, valid ID's and other necessary documents (as may be requested by the Company).

Q: I gave away/sold my Cellular Phone, will that unit still be insured even if the policy is not yet expired?
The unit will no longer be insured even if the policy is not yet expired because Insurance is a Personal Contract.
CLAIMS
Q: Where do I file my claim?
In the event that you met an incident which may give rise to a claim, you may file through eStandard Insurance "Claiming Center" and Standard Insurance Co., Inc. "Branch Office" nearest you.
Q: How many days do you settle claims?
The amount of any loss or damage for which the company may be liable shall be settled through replacement of unit within 5 days (maximum of 30 days) after proof of loss is received by the Company. If ascertainment of the loss is not made within sixty (60) days after such receipt of the Company, then claim shall be settled within ninety (90) days.
Q: What are the requirements in filing a claim?
The following documents must be submitted to eStandard Insurance within 10 days for processing :

If claim is due to Accidental Damage:

  • Proper Identifications
  • Bring the damaged unit
  • Accomplished Cell-phone Claims Report Form (CCRF)
  • Payment Slip/Certificate of Insurance
  • Any requested documentation to support the claim

If claim is due to LOSS (Robbery) or Total Damage:

  • Proper Identifications
  • Payment Slip/Certificate of Insurance
  • Original or Duly Certified true Copy of police report or excerpt from the blotter (reported within 24 hours from the time of loss)
  • Accomplished Cell Phone Claims Report Form within 48 hours
  • Copy of any document necessary to support the claim (proof of ownership indicating the Serial Number of the insured cell-phone: invoice, box, or billing)
Q: Will I be given cash or check as payment for my claim?
There will be no check or cash settlement, the maximum liability of eStandard Insurance shall be:

In case of loss or total damage: replacement of the cellular phone unit with the same brand and model. In case of unavailability, a different model with an equivalent value of the same brand shall be provided.

In case of accidental damage: repair of the damaged unit.
